HGF'S BREAKING NEWS NO. 03, JULY 2026
Vietnam’s seafood exports maintained solid growth in the first half of 2026, driven by resilient demand in Asia and the benefits of market diversification. Pangasius exports reached 1.1 billion USD, up 12%, with China and CPTPP markets leading growth, while exports to the US and Brazil remained under pressure. Shrimp exports climbed 14.2% to 2.35 billion USD, supported by booming demand in China and strong lobster shipments despite rising logistics costs and tariff uncertainties. Tuna exports showed signs of recovery, reaching 455 million USD in the first half of the year, although demand in the US and EU remained weak. Meanwhile, surimi exports rebounded strongly in June, with encouraging growth in China, Japan, Malaysia, and the US, reflecting improving market conditions despite continued softness in traditional destinations.
