HGF'S BREAKING NEWS NO. 02, OCT. 2026
Vietnam’s seafood exports continued to show positive growth in 2026, with pangasius exports reaching USD 1.73 billion, shrimp exports totaling USD 3.7 billion, and tuna exports recovering steadily. Pangasius performed well in the UK, EU, Japan, and Middle East, while shrimp exports benefited from strong demand in China and several CPTPP markets despite challenges in the US and EU. Tuna exports showed signs of recovery, with Russia emerging as a promising market, while crab exports surged by 27%, driven mainly by strong demand from China and the US. However, the industry continues to face challenges from tariffs, market fluctuations, rising logistics costs, and stricter food safety and traceability requirements. Diversifying export markets, improving product quality, and strengthening compliance will be essential for maintaining growth and competitiveness.
