HGF'S BREAKING NEWS NO. 02, APR. 2026
Vietnam’s seafood exports in early 2026 continue to show encouraging growth, especially in value-driven markets. Pangasius exports to CPTPP countries increased strongly, led by Mexico, Japan, and the UK, reflecting rising demand for affordable and value-added products, while the industry gradually shifts from volume-based to value-based growth. In the shrimp sector, global raw shrimp prices declined across major producing countries amid rising production costs, while stable demand from Japan helped maintain export momentum despite pressure in the US market. Tuna exports posted strong gains in Spain and the UAE, while clam exports continued to expand in the EU and the US, though Asian markets weakened. Overall, Vietnam’s seafood industry is demonstrating resilience by diversifying markets and improving product value, despite ongoing cost pressures and global market volatility.
