HGF'S BREAKING NEWS NO. 01, NOV. 2026

Vietnam’s seafood exports continued to show positive performance in 2026, with pangasius exports reaching USD 1.84 billion, up 10.5% year-on-year, driven mainly by strong demand from China and Brazil, while exports to the US declined. Shrimp production remained stable, with Japan maintaining its position as a key market despite continued pressure from trade policies in the US and fluctuating demand in the EU. Vietnamese tuna exports to Germany recorded strong growth, benefiting from increased market share and demand for canned products. Meanwhile, clam exports reached nearly USD 107 million, up 17%, supported by strong growth in the EU and US, while exports to China fell sharply. Overall, the seafood industry continues to face challenges from trade policies, market fluctuations, and stricter requirements for quality, traceability, and sustainability, highlighting the importance of market diversification and developing higher-value products.
