HGF'S BREAKING NEWS NO. 01, JULY 2026

Vietnam’s seafood exports maintained steady growth in the first five months of 2026 despite persistent challenges in several key markets. Pangasius exports reached 910 million USD, up 13%, driven by strong demand from China and CPTPP countries, while the industry continued to focus on value-added products and sustainable farming technologies. Shrimp exports rose 12% to 1.9 billion USD, supported by robust demand in China and other Asian markets, although shipments to the US remained under pressure from weak consumer demand and intensifying competition. Meanwhile, tuna exports declined 7% overall due to weaker demand in the US and EU, but strong growth in Russia, the Middle East, and CPTPP markets highlighted the industry's ongoing market diversification. The sector continues to strengthen its resilience through innovation, sustainability, and broader export destinations.
