Vietnam’s seafood export outlook remained positive in the first half of 2026, with pangasius exports to CPTPP markets reaching 196 million USD, up 15%, driven by Mexico, the UK, and Japan. Japan stood out for its strong demand for value-added pangasius products. Meanwhile, shrimp exports faced weaker demand in the EU and US, while China entered a correction phase amid high inventories and price pressure. Tuna exports to Canada reached nearly 20 million USD, up 5%, with processed and canned products showing particularly strong growth. Swimming crab was a major bright spot, with exports reaching 43 million USD, up 56%, largely driven by the US market.
